Celler Mortinel or wine Gaudi - author's tour

A delightful all-day tour of the three most delightful designer wine houses in the Seier region in the Priory wine region! Constructed by the same name architect Celler Mortinel - a disciple and follower and later rival Antonio Gaudí. It was during the work on the project of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, that Antonín Gaudi and Celler Mortinel 's paths parted ways.
Our tour begins with the Cooperative Celler Falset Mars, which has a hundred-year history, founded in 1912, which includes more than 350 small wineries. Members of the cooperative are families of peasants who lived in Priory for generations, and worked on these lands with love and care. They know their work thoroughly and every inch of this territory. Partners of the cooperative are owners of these lands and work on them themselves, growing grapes. They stand firm on this project, and they know that a good result is working in the vineyards for a year to get the highest quality.

Further our way will pass through the first Cartesian monastery based on the Iberian peninsula, therefore it represents a special value and is declared a historical and artistic monument. The monastery was built in the XII century. until our days, a church that was built in the XVIII century. For many centuries, the Cargean monks engaged in winemaking in the Priory. Most of the vineyards are located on stone terraces. Harvest is very low, about 2-3 thousand kilograms per hectare, but of outstanding quality. It was in this city that the family of Seyer Mortinel lived, where he, with his mother's milk and love for his father's carpenter's craft, absorbed the culture of winemaking. It was from this city that the new epoch of winery Prioryato began, thanks to the enthusiasm of former journalist Carlos Pastrana and his wife Mariona Jarque. In the late 70's, they began to look around the region, and a few years later, at their own risk and risk, they acquired vineyards and an old farmhouse. Gradually around Carlos and Marion there was a group of like-minded people from different countries of Europe, many of whom no longer work in the region. The first brand that conquered professionals and amateurs was the "Clos de l'Obac" (L'Obac - a place in Priorato). Stamps of the famous wines of the new Priorat are created in accordance with the old traditions of the Skala Day monastery. Manuscripts, dated 1628, are kept in the National Historical Archives of Madrid.
Having visited such an outstanding place, we go to the greatest architectural creation of Celler Mortinel - the wine factory Seyar Gandessa built in 1919. We will be able to see the greatest fermentation shop in Spain and taste the regional wines.
Further our way lies in the wine cellars of Seyer Javier Clois, one of the relatives of Seyar Martinele who perfectly preserved the traditions of wine-making of the family and dedicated his life to growing grapes and producing wine. The last generation, led by Javier Clois, combines the experience, the traditions of winemaking with higher education. New methods and methods of working with vineyards and wine products are being introduced. The new center combines a small but modern architecture, which facilitates the daily work at the winery, with the inherited tradition and love of the land.
