Cave and underground river in Vall d'Uixó
Did you ever imagine yourself being a pirate? And a researcher of unusual, hidden from all eyes, special places? Having found yourself in the cave of Sant Josep, which is located in the town of La Vall d'Uixó, 35 km south of the city of Castellón (Valencian Community), you feel yourself for the first time a "real" traveler, immersed in eternity and infinity.
We will visit the longest underground river in Europe, plunge into the bowels of the Earth, sailing on a boat and listening only to your heart, pounding with delight, enjoying the views of the silent river, the rocks and grottoes of caves that the river polished for millennia. Only here it is possible to understand how we humans live very little compared to the age-old stalactites and stalagmites, which formerly only listened to the silence mixed with the murmur of water and the echoes created by the drops of water falling and dissolving in the waters of the river, not for 35 minutes, like we do during a journey underground, but for centuries ... An inexpressibly beautiful underground landscape with intricate images of frozen stones (jellyfish, a silhouette of a dog, tentacles of a crab), which, of course, can only be seen now thanks to remarkably lighting in the caves we see today, and it is undoubtedly a fantastic opportunity!
The depth of the river changes as you move deeper, as well as the vaults of the cave: they are high, and it seems that you are in the concert hall, then narrowing so much that you have to bend down in the boat so as not to touch the narrow openings of the cave. Unfortunately, the whole river can not be crossed, and they can only ride a boat for almost 2 km of the river, and they also let them walk with their feet, feeling the soil under their feet.
